Windows Graphics Windows XP adds animation to almost every visual component of the
operating system. While these affectations may be cute, they can easily make a 2 GHz computer perform as though it were an antique.
Rather than watch your Start Menu crawl to its open position, you can configure your menus and list boxes to snap to position. You’ll be surprised at
how much faster and more responsive Windows will feel.

A) Uncheck boxes except bottom 2 effects options, as seen in picture. Start Menu > Run... > SYSDM.CPL > Advanced > Performance Settings
B) If you reduce this value, your menus will open much more quickly. Start Menu > Run... > REGEDIT > HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Control Panel >   Desktop > MenuShowDelay > Change to "20" (restart required to effect)
*each feature disabled in step A will increase performance, we recommend enabling only the bottom 2, ultimately the choice comes down to your personal visual preferences and performance.
