Start Up Programs Startup programs are programs that are automatically started by Windows when the operating system starts. A) Uncheck that box to stop that program from running at start up.
    Start Menu > Run... > MSCONFIG > Startup > Apply     (see picture)



B) If not sure what programs you should remove or leave running.
    Click Icon to the Right > Enter the Programs Name into "Search"


*uncheck the box to prevent that program from running at start up, each box disabled will increase your computers performance, use step B to find info about the program before disabling it.
